[UA] UA/OtE amalgamation

Hidey ho. I have always been in awe of the Over the Edge
system and world. And UA tweaks my nipples just as well.
People on this list have talked about how to combine the
two games.

Rules-wise, I have concocted a system that integrates the
simple skill resolution of Over the Edge with the beautiful
madness rules and stimuli of Unknown Armies. The rules are
written with a specific world in mind, so they are lacking
in some UA concepts, such as magick and avatars. They
introduce something called Influence, which is only useful
in the game that I call "4 o'clock World."

If you want to see how I've hammered these rules together,
you can see them here:

There are also a couple of character sheets, but they are
really only useful if you play with those rules. If you're
running OtE or UA, then these sheets will be pretty useless
(oh, and there are 4-o'clock-World-specific areas, such as
factions). You can glance at the sheets here:

BTW, the 4 o'clock World is something I borrowed from this
list. I believe it was originally 3:33 world, but I stole
it and made an entire game campaign out of it. Thus, the
credits have some familiar names. If anyone is attending a
game convention in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, or Nebraska,
there may be a chance you can find me and 4 o'clock World.

Anyway, I've run through this combination of UA and OtE and
am pretty happy with the results. As you can see, it's
nigh impossible to succeed at a Rank-10 madness check. I
was willing to take that risk. As the PCs rarely find
themselves in such a situation, the few times I forced them
to roll have been pretty instrumental in guiding the story.
