The last alternative for knocked-up girls.

Before Roe vs. Wade, Sandra didn’t know what to do
when she got pregnant at 14.  She didn’t want to admit
to being raped.  She didn’t want to tell her parents
why she was getting fatter.  Instead, she ran away,
and when the baby came, she ran away and left it to
die.  It wasn’t a big town.  When the police found a
dead newborn a few months after a runaway, they knew
who it was.  And they were waiting for her when she
finally came home.

She was a ward of the State until she was 18.  During
this time, she reflected on what she had done, and
what kind of person that made her – not a mother, but
also not childless.  They didn’t call it "murder." 
Despite that history, Sandra’s natural intelligence
got her into a mid-level college.   Too little money
and too much criminal background were more of an issue
when it came to medical school; she attended the
bargain basement.

Even at the top of her class in that Banana Republic
med school wouldn’t get her a career in the States. 
So she got a certificate and took work as a part-time
nurse at an Alabama abortion clinic.  But it wasn’t
enough for what those girls needed.  Too many
restrictions, too little privacy.  Too much of a paper
trail that can haunt a woman in this part of the
South.

Sandra initially solved the problem by starting an
underground railroad to the North, taking girls to New
York City to get their abortions.  But that wasn’t
enough.  Some of the girls were minors, and couldn’t
travel.  Others were too far along for any legal
doctor to work on.  So Sandra became the solution; she
makes house calls.

Sandra runs an Abortion Underground with contacts and
spirals all over the South.  Her spiritual
understanding of her vocation led her to found the
School of Maternamancy.  She has done temporary
positions at most clinics in Alabama, and has contacts
among the doctors.  They know she’s a “go to” friend,
When she asks to give them a proper burial, it only
makes them see her as an understanding woman who has
found a compromise with her faith.

And her network is spreading, out of the state and
across the region.  The laws they make to restrict
abortion create a large demand for her services.  
Whenever she moves in on a town, she somehow unites
the underground abortionist, shows them her Artifact
tools and the promise of a 100% safe back-alley
abortion industry.  The only major price for being in
the network is is that they must freeze the
fetal-tissue and turn it over to her for a proper
disposal.

It’s only a matter of time until her cult of
personality spreads further.  Her butch, neo-pagan
bodygaurd/safehouse operator has recently studied what
Sandra’s been doing... and it made sense to her.

She doesn't know from the "Sleepers" yet, but if her
bodyguard ever starts up something with a more Occult
face, that might just change.  But with a nearly
untracable underground railroad for these "girls in
trouble" running all over the nation, the Sleepers
might have their legwork cut out for them.
