Hey Daniel,
Cameron here, the guy who was setting up a street
level "Clerks" style UA campaign set in Detroit. I
wanted to say thanks for the advice and story
suggestions you offered! I ran the first session last
Sunday, and it went extremely well. I'll try and post
an "actual play" thread (but most likely over on
www.rpg.net because those kinda threads are popular
over there), but for now I'll say that I've started to
slowly weave a couple of your excellent suggestions
into the game.
I also held back on any overt weirdness until the very
end of the session, when the delivery guy PC got a
phone call from his sister (who is involved in one of
the local gangs), very very distraught, saying
"they're all dead ... oh God, I'm surrounded by bodies
...". He leaps on his bike, imagining that the gang
has been taken out by a rival gang in a bloody
shootout (gang tension turned out to be the focus of
the first session), rides over to the apartment, and
sure enough finds about 30 of the gang members dead
with his sister rocking backwards and forwards in the
middle of them. Except none of the bodies show ANY
signs of violence ... and they're ALL smiling ...
So, thanks very much for the suggestions!
Cheers,
Cam.
