Seriously though, it does seem that group archetypes don't really fit into the UA mould, which is philosophically more about individual power and sacrifice. But still, the train of thought has to be followed to its logical conclusion:

The entire population of the world ascends as "The Population". Sea otters evolve to be the new masters of the earth.

  I'm disinclined to endorse group archetypes as such, but I think you can
  get the same effect with avatar synergies.  There are already a few in the
  canon -- the King and the Executioner enhance each other IIRC.  Certainly
  if you want to work up a Lover archetype, I can readily imagine its focus
  intensifying in conjunction with another Lover.  This gives you the
  coolness of avatars creating constructive feedback, without the weird
  hairiness of a group ascending together.  All the buzz, none of the
  aftertaste.
