The Hoi Polloi
Every set is divided into Cliques clinging onto the
Rungs.
Every The Thing to Be social set has a hierarchy
gauged as strata:
00 There is no Green Door for these members
99-91 The Kings and Queens of the Point-and-Clique
Interface
90-71 The Palavers of the Palace
70-51 The Bright Young Things
50-01 Barnacles on the Even Keel; crawling up, sliding
down.
Character creation and social teeth
A player chooses two of his skills (or doubles one) as
his Status or social health. The skills can be Body
(beautifully painted), Speed (in the Right Photos)
Mind (intellectual elite), Soul (leeched fame or
Reputation)
In a pinch, the characters two highest skills will
do, or if he has a Reputation, just double that. I
would seriously recommend your characters use the
Reputation skill (check Lawyers, Guns and Money. It is
your missing link).
Status has no governing stat. Status has no bearing on
the skills after creation social health follows its
own ghostly whim.
The Alternate Social Health
You can always base SH on the one thing everyone has:
Hard and Failed Notches and Soul stats. Add 5% for
every notch the character has. She could be a spooky,
scary, sexy badass instead of just pretty.
The Cabal as the Clique
What if the cabal could have its own pecking order
like the nobles, courtiers and entourage.
The cabal would be limited by it's weakest member.
Cheers,
Chris.

The little bird that is the song in my heart
is too tired to be carried
by its battered wings.
It falls, crashes...
... and is still in its bone cage...
