Kudo Bryant. Very slick.

The closest I have been using as social conflict is
PoMoFo: Posturing/Posing Mo' Fo'. It's kind of like a
stand off duel, before the shit drops.

The players choose what Stress Gauge they're going to
run off (Violence, Unnatural, etc) and a skill they
can use (beat you up, hexy baby, etc).

Each player rolls that skill as a significant check.

Success
The character projects an aura of menace and threat
the Stress Rank equal to the "tens" of the roll.

Fail, under Stat
The character projects an aura of menace and threat, a
Stress Rank equal to the "tens" of the sum of the
roll.

Fail, over Stat
Your opponent's inner strength and cockiness is
exaggerated as you feel your confidence dissolve in
his cool glare.

If your character has hard notches equal or greater
than the chosen Stress Gauge, he's unfazed.

If the character lacks the correct number of hard
notches, he plausibly weighs the consequences and
feels his thumb lose grip on the scale.

PoMoFo is purely used as a means of measuring up
opponents that is fairly cool way to how they would
"seem" to each other.

And then there are those cool gunslinger/samurai
standoffs before a duel.

Cheers,

Chris.

It falls, crashes...
