Well, many moons ago I came up with what I thought was a pretty nifty rules
concept.  I called it "semiotomatic" because it would "automatically"
communicate your actions through dice choice.  Thus, your dice do the
talking -- "semiotics".

Okay, THAT part maybe isn't so clever.  In playtesting, it emerged that
this was a great combat system one-on-one, but for a GM trying to run five
opponents it was a TOTAL NIGHTMARE.  But (I reasoned) it would be good for
a big dumb robots-fight-in-an-arena game.

Then Dan heard about it... somehow?  I don't remember where I mentioned it.
He started asking to see what I'd done, and then he prettified that and
resparked my interest and now I'm playtesting it and half-assedly trying to
get it in shape for release.
