The way I read it, being an Agent of Renunciation is
like being ordained a Catholic priest - once you're
it, you're it for life no matter what you do. What I
do imagine, though, is a Renunciagent getting fed up
with serving the room and just walking away from it
(and, probably, from the whole Occult Underground).
They still have all their abilities, they just choose
not to use them. 
A self-retired agent like this will definitely have to
watch out for Dukes who encountered her while on the
job and/or who don't believe she's actually retired,
not to mention agents of other rooms, and agents of
the *same* room (the "one last job" story-line).
