Yeah, of all the numerous role-playing source books I've read over the years,
I have to say that UA has been the best overall. The books are fun to read,
and generate a constant source of ideas. A few weeks ago I read the first two
(White Wolf) Orpheus books, and then re-read Break Today. It was an amazing
difference... for all its high production values and "this is scary stuff"
innuendo, Orpheus felt very bland and been-there-done-that. Break Today, on
the other hand, managed to be many times more creepy - and this is probably
the most light-hearted of the UA books. I guess it's a matter of "tell" vs.
"show". Or something. In any case, UA is something to be proud of.
I still haven't actually *played* UA yet, though I have a vision of a UA/Delta
Green story with bits of other games (Wraith, Mage, Over the Edge)) sprinkled
on top...
