I'm starting a game in Chicago. It'll be "To Go". If you're interested,
write me some email.
Here are the full details: (orginally posted to a more general rpg group,
I thought I'd leave the description of UA in there for kicks.)
Yo. I'll be running an Unknown Armies game in Chicago. I'll run "To
Go", the most recent supplement and first ever complete campaign
published for UA. Unknown Armies is an incredible game. Its very
accessible and new players are definitily welcome.
Unknown Armies is a game of horror, discovery, and magick set (mostly) in
the United States. Its kind of like Call of Cthulhu, in that you play
relatively normal people up againist a decidely strange world. Unlike
Call of Cthulhu, that world is fundementally understandable. You can
learn the secrets of the Cosmos and try to reshape the world for the
better. In between, you can cast spells, shoot guns, pretend to be James
Bond, and generally wreck havoc. The game is very flexible as to what
sort of campaign you want to run. Since the rules are simple and the
game is set in the modern world, you can get into the game without having
to read the book. (although the Core book is pretty cool.)
You can download the first chapter of the book from the game company at
http://www.atlas-games.com/pdf_storage/ua2_preview.pdf
"To Go" is a 7-session, high-powered campaign by the game's author, Greg
Stolze. I'll probably run a couple of unrelated games first to let
people get a feel for the game and get acquanted, then do the campaign.
If people want to play more, there will be plenty of related plot to do
after we're done with "To Go"
The game will be meeting weekly near the University of Chicago. Day and
Time are whatever works best for everyone, I'd perfer a weeknight but
don't have a strong perference. I hope to get the campaign started
within two or three weeks.
Characters are Global level. (If you don't have 2nd edition, that means
240 points worth of stats and skills) Home-brew goodness (ie, new
schools of Magick) are welcome, just don't get offended if I say no or
edit them to death. If you don't have the book but really want to make
your own character, the character creation section is in the pdf preview
(downloadable above.)
Anyway. If you want to play, just drop me a comment or email
(lamproswc at yahoo.com) and introduce yourself.
Thanks!
Alex
