The House of Renunciation has been the part of the UA Cosmology that I've been fiddling with lately. Anyway, here's an attempt to make up my own little room with some help from the guy who introduced me to Unknown Armies, Jim, who came up with the most important sentence in the whole thing:

The room can be reached under beds, through wardrobes and in secret hatches of treehouses, all of the places of childhood mysticism that are lost upon adulthood.

It is the room where squandered childhoods are avenged, be they taken through abuse or early age intensity. The room is just as likely to target an Olympic gymnast as an abused child locked in a closet without food.

An adult who comes to the room must give up power; a child must give up dependence.(<< - - Jim's sentence)

The agents of the room do not find files but broken toys, symbols of the childhoods being lost in the world. The degree of damage to the toy is a prophecy of how dead the childhood is. These toys can be used to find the subject and then it is up to the Room's Agents to either get the subject back to the room or avenge the lost adolescence.

A faded G.I. Joe doll, bleached white from the sun, broken in half with a missing eye, might lead to a grown-up corporate executive who was moved around alot in a military family while a talking bear with a broken rip-cord might lead to a little girl who is not allowed to speak unless spoken to.

Next up:

Agents of the Room and the Layout and Powers of the room itself.
