[UA] UA Tarot redux and a possible Archetype

Some time ago there was a discussion about creating a UA Tarot card set, to
which I provided a few ideas/website links. Anyway I found a
history/encyclopedia of the Tarot in a second hand book shop, it has
pictures from various decks throughout history. There are a few variant
cards shown which might be of use in the UA tarot.

These Are:

Magician: The magician is shown as a card player, in a Sicilian tarot
variant.

Hanged Man, in the Sicilian variant deck, the hanged man hangs by the neck.

One 17th century Belgian deck replaces two of the Major Arcana characters as
follows.

High Priestess(Papess), replaced with. 'The Spanish Captain, Ercasse'.

High Priest(Pope), replaced with, 'Baccus, God of Wine'.

Of these four variant cards the third I have mentioned may contain an actual
Archetype, 'Captain Ercasse"(or Francasse) is a stock character from the
comic plays of the era, a swaggering braggart of a soldier, who has appeared
under one name or another in plays/films dating from the present day back to
Greek and Roman times.

The Archetype, which at present I call, the "Incompetent Braggart" would at
a guess combine aspects of the Fool, with some form of illusory authority. I
do not at this point have the time to expand further on this so I throw it
open to discussion on the list.

a wing and a prayer!"
