For ordinary day-to-day Austin, you might start at http://austin.about.com/;
a subsection of it
(http://austin.about.com/library/essentials/blsixthstreet.htm) has a some
great shots of Sixth Street, which is the main strip of clubs in Austin.

You can also check out www.austin360.com.

The Univesity of Texas can be found at this site (www.utexas.edu).

As for weird Austin, try these links:

http://www.keepaustinweird.com/home.html

This site is part of the Keep Austin Weird movement, which is a "movement"
that sprang up in response to the encroaching yuppiedom of North Austin and
other such hi-tech enclaves on the weirdness of South Congress and other
such places in Austin. Includes a link on Leslie!

Kinky is, well, hard to describe. He's a musician, writer, and all
all-around strange dude. Just read his site and judge for yourself.

Wish I had time to suggest more, but hopefully that will get your started.
Gotta rush!

Wade
