I reckon they'd keep the person as a stringer -
gathering information outside Maxie. He would still be
a max, but he would not be employed by the clown. I
suppose he'd have to eat there.

This is Macdonalds, not the CIA. 'Sides the character
might also have magic, and that's not something you
want alienated from the group.

This is just protocol and life does it's damnedest to
wreck the best plans.
