[UA] Compulsion and PCs

One approach: avoid messing with people minds on a random basis.

Start by showing them magick/channels more phisically oriented; thats the
first exposure of the characters to the reality of the occult underground.

Then after that, talk with one or more of your players looking out for the
ones that would like to have their characters mind messed up. 

Work said mindf... into your campaing. The others have to a) realize their
friend is acting weird (maybe with help from them - "I dont know why I'm
doing this, is like something is controlling me"), and b) save them from
it. Have something in place to explain why not everyone is under the mind
control ray thingy.
