At Graceland Too in Holly Springs, Mississippi, a father and son operate a
24/7 shrine to the King. I took Ken Hite there a few years ago. They have a
room with a solid wall of television sets, all tuned to different stations,
which they try to monitor by sleeping in shifts. Whenever they encounter an
Elvis reference, of absolutely any sort whatsoever, they log it in their
massive collection of three-ring binders with notes as to which show it was
on, what the reference was, etc. Ken and I arrived at about 3 in the
morning, knocked on the door, and spent the next hour with the father
ranting like a speed freak about Elvis, singing us songs, showing us the
binders of TV logs, and generally being the biggest, happiest freak you can
imagine.
