Actually, a more victorian argument would be that they are following
'natural law'. This http://tinyurl.com/nxwj argument for cannibalism
touches on the subject of predation, where predators perceive themselves
as being more valuable than the prey. In such situations predatory
activities are justified by the argument "If something is entitled to
kill for food under certain conditions, e.g. respectfully and when in
need, then so are others under the same conditions".
