The whole part of the OC "paradox" is their eat the
poor mentality. The poor being anyone who is not them.
But the poor are their truest source of sustenance -
they are still human.

Like trickle-down Reaganomics with teeth. They see the
poor and foreign as a weaker subset of humanity (they
are the pinnacle) they do eat the lesser people
because the weak people are cattle - but it also has
roots in magical cannibalism; absorbing your enemies
strength. So OC can eat each other.

I wanted to work out cultural supremacy concurrently
with the crunchy bits.

Everything about OC can be derived from Victorian
Arrogance - the laws do not apply to them just to keep
the cattle in their pens.
