 I haven't actually written anything down (I'm a lazy,
lazy man), but I've always considered that the Ordo
Corpulentus were probably a group of thanatomancers
who used cannibalism as part of their sig-charge
killing ritual.  Maybe one of the Grail Knights is
behind them- wasn't one of the group a hunter (or
possibly, a Hunter), looking for the one prey that
would feed his tribe forever?  Not a long step from
there to the Ordo.  Hope this helps.
