That's kind of creepy, but certainly could be an interesting way to undercut an Iconomancer. 

On a side note, Petrarch's amusing for his "Travels in the Holy Land" in which he talks about going there, plans his trip, talks about the place, but never actually goes there because he's afraid of seasickness. Very meta in a 14th century kind of way.
