Exactly.

I get the feeling that Harold Bloom ( and others of his ilk ) couldn't earn
enough from writing to pay for a latte at starbucks, and therefore look down
on those who can.  

Even in his arguments he doesn't resonate; he seems to say that popular
authors are bad writers, something I don't agree with.  He also overlooks
the many authors now venerated in ivory towers were once considered slimy
populists.

In other words, he's an asshat.
