[UA] What kind of clockwork could you build with one of these?

Thats the obvious path.

The devious path is to search for the kind of life forms that thrived after
the massive extinction (some animal had to be lucky enough to survive &
find a lot of new nice empty ecological niches to invade.

Make clockwork like that lifeform. It will go, replicate like a Von Neumann
automata, and kill 1 species out of the face of earth; then all the new
"mechanical" creatures are going to make an evolutive jump to a direct
descendant of the original form.

Do it well and you may end up killing all humanity and replacing it with a
world of robots... take safewards to ensure your survival & code them to be
obedient to you in all forms....

Well, duh.  A clockwork that leaps up into the stratosphere (and I do
mean strat, not stat) or above, pauses, and comes down onto a mountain
to trigger an eruption like that of Krakatoa or Thera or Mt. Mazama (now
Crater Lake).

Alternately, a nuclear missile clockwork.

Why?  Well, possibly as an aggressive sort of murder/suicide.  Or, to
speed 8up the next reincarnation of the universe by shaking up the
statosphere, radically changing the nature of human culture and thus
weakening various archetypes, allowing for new ones to ascend more
easily.  Or, to prevent the next reincarnation of the universe from
happening (no humans == no more ascensions == no reboot).
