[UA] UA-est. Novel. EVAR.

William Gibson's book "Pattern Recognition" is possibly the most UA-vibed
novel I've read yet. Heroine with peculiar (and marketable) ability that
may be psychic or just psychological? Check. Ambiguous spirituality?
Check. Current events that are weirder than occult conspiracy? Got it.
Pushy billionaires? Mm hm. Obsessively tracked video footage of unknown
provenance? Si, senor.

Not only that, but you can actually find a point in the text in which the
heroine uses her Rage stimulus to erase a Failed notch.

It's a sweet book.

I recently discovered something that accomplished the unlikely goal of
providing 10% of what I like about hot mustard, 35% of what I like about
candy, and 100% of what I like about booze. It's called a "Fog Cutter,"
though that's a bit of a misnomer. It would be more appropriate to name it
the "Reaction-Time Deadener" or the "Inhibition Loosener." And it comes
with a tiny parasol.
