[UA] Schools and stuff.

Hey all.
This is my on-off sometimes-occasional reply to the
list.
I really like the UA take of Russia that Max showed
off. I think a campaign set in the late eighties to
early nineties about Western adepts invading Russia to
be the first ones to suck off those major charges
would be damn cool. Something like the Great Race with
live ammunition and the 100-meter dash across Red
Square, dodging bullets with Tchaikovskis skull
underarm is a great image for me.
Adepts always stick as losers in my mind. A lot of
obsessive collector types fall in this category. For
adepts are like philatelists or stamp-collectors. They
hoard those tiny pieces of sugar-gummed paper designed
to be used for postage and do the exact opposite with
them. They make posting them very damn difficult with
all those alarms, glass cases and armed response
companies just there making sure the stamps never move
from that very spot. That generates charges.
The thought of X-tremancy sends me glaring images of
Vin Diesel look-a-likes used as target practice by
really, really drunk dipsomancers armed with really
big guns. If X-tremancy exists, it would be a very
minor school with a single major charge generated in
any dangerous activity. Hurting yourself in charge
gathering activity even in a non-threatening and
cosmetic way like scratches- would violate your taboo.
As for Sonjas post about that weird (possibly low
frequency) moaning keeping everyone awake. Back in my
misspent youth I helped build and assemble helicopters
in an isolated aerodrome with some other guys.
Sometimes we would stay overnight in the huge hangar
trying to get a chopper finished before deadline.
At this old WWII aerodrome with its old cracked
concrete landing strips always had a wind blowing
sometimes it was a very slight breeze from the flat
farmlands or a stormy wind from the nearby mountains.
Despite this there was always some sort of wind noise.
Except some infrequent creepy times where the wind
changed direction in a certain way and the wind noise
went away but the wind was still blowing and the
metal sheeting the hangar was built from started
reverberating, blocking out the wind sounds. And that
damn oscillation sounded like human moans sort of a
cartoon-like ghost. Like cats can sound like crying
babies. When the storms came the reverb sound went
like a corkscrew through your guts with its ultralow
bass.
I reckon thats the reason for the weird crying sounds
keeping everyone awake. They should check for
vibrating aircraft hangars smack-dab in the centre of
their neighbourhoods.
Until later,
Cheers,
Chris.
