I like. But I disagree on one point:

Being reborn in central Baghdad even as we speak. My guess is that they 
aren't having much fun there. And the irony of your supposed saviours 
bombing the living shit out of you . . . if that's not paradoxical enough to 
kick phobomancy back into existence, I don't know what is . . .
