Reading the nonfiction "Word Freak" reminded me of another nonfiction
chronicle of human obsession -- the documentary film "Cheap, Fast and Out
of Control."  Just a beautiful, wonderful movie.  See it if you can.  Can't
recommend it highly enough.  And, if I recall correctly, it's even one of
those movies you can watch with your innocent, inquisitive 10-year-old and
his stuffy, easily shocked granny.  But don't rely on on my recollection
for that.

I recently discovered something that accomplished the unlikely goal of
providing 10% of what I like about hot mustard, 35% of what I like about
candy, and 100% of what I like about booze.  It's called a "Fog Cutter,"
though that's a bit of a misnomer.  It would be more appropriate to name it
the "Reaction-Time Deadener" or the "Inhibition Loosener."  And it comes
with a tiny parasol.
