[UA] Fatsis' Word Freak

Okay, I wish I'd read "Word Freak" before writing up "A Grammarian Gate"
for "Break. Today." The Scrabble fanatics described in its pages are
really ripe for UA-ification. It's particularly instructive in that the
author himself goes through the initiation process that transforms him from
"a decent living room player" into a competitor. And (as the book makes
vividly clear) high level Scrabble bears about as much resemblance to
living room play as trying to hit a 100+ mph fastball in the bigs does to
playing catch with your ten-year-old. I'm waiting for the scene where
Fatsis is riding the subway and realizes that every advertisment he sees is
exploding into anagrams, and that he can't stop it...
