[UA] Really Weird Dream

Over the last few months I've been having this really weird dream.

I live in Manchester in England. For those who don't know its a former
industrial city that is pretty much trying to abandon its industrial past
and embrace the 21st century. You know, skyscrapers, cafe-culture, city
centre parks and the whole urban redevelopment thing.

Now, I've been having this series of dreams whose "plot" varies from dream
to dream. They're all set in Manchester but its not the REAL Manchester. Its
always sunny for a start, the streets are wide and clean. The terrain is
also pretty different. To the east of the city centre in the real world is
Salford. In the dream there is a gorge with a river running through it.
Romanesque bridges cross it carrying road and railways into the city. There
are European style boulevards lined with trees, fountains and grass verges.
Its like an idealised version of the city. One that only exists in my
dreams. The weird thing is, this all feels totally normal. I always seem to
know where I'm going in the dream. And I always KNOW that this is
Manchester. Its one of the few dreams I have where I'm not aware that I'm
dreaming.

The really freaky thing is that when I'm awake I keep expecting to see the
dream city when I turn a corner.
