I finally got my copy of UA2 and have just read the up to the Avatars section. I just wanted to share an idea that came to me when reading the Personamancer formual called "The Mirror Crack'd".

If you have never seen tha movie memento go and see it. It's an excellent movie and does the whole "reverse storytelling" much better than the Irreversible BS. In Memento the lead character forgets everything he does after about a minute of time has passed. All the recent memories (from a single tragic event in his life up to the current moment) are purged. The guy has notes and tattoos to remind himself the important stuff he needs to find who killed his wife (if I remember correctly). A Personamancer who tried an enhanced version of the formula on himself could possibly end up like that.

Another thought. If the guy is a clockworker instead, his memories could be continually purged to feed an exceptionally powerful clockwork. Something huge and working in cycles works best I believe.
