[UA] my game/experiment 4

My experiment is running a game with 3 people without telling them what
game they are playing. And to keep telling you guys about it until someone
cries stop.

We are in the midst of the Green Glass Grail scenario, so this note is
mainly about that. I suppose there are spoilers ahead.

They didn't get too far other than to meet everyone, some basic breaking
and entering, and figuring out something very strange is going on. We play
for less than 3 hours, and I think we get distracted a lot (screaming kids
will do that). Overall for the campaign, they've figured out there are
occult groups involved, and I think they know who the wackos are, but they
have no proof so they haven't done much but mutter about it.

I've been amazed at how they have avoided all confrontation. No player has
made a roll in anger yet. I've seen groups of dilettantes in Call of
Cthulhu begin shooting off shotguns faster than these guys. There have been
opportunities for violence, but when dangerous things happen or they see
shadows in the night, they are actually running away. I'm doing something
right or something wrong. But then again, they don't know how many "hit
points" they have, and they don't know how much damage a bullet will do,
other than what they know from real life.

I think the funniest thing was when one player followed a guy out the back
door of a bar. He opened the door and saw a dipsomancer (TJoe) major
blasting some guy - garbage cans and bottles flying around, bricks coming
loose and hitting him. The player hardened on his unnatural check. Then he
just calmly shut the door and waited for the noise to die down. These
players are going to live a long time. They'll become psychopaths, but
they'll live a long time.

I mentioned last week that I'm using the Coca Cola slogans from the last
100 years in the game. Now I'm working in the Coke theme every chance I
get. The major businesses on the street have signs out front each with a
Coke slogan sort of fits. Then to be weird, the slogans change every few
hours to some other coke slogan. Everyone they meet that doesn't drink
beer, drinks either coke or rum and coke.

Where the dipsomancer used charges he got from the Grail, concentrated Coke
juice was left running down the walls (like blood in a bad horror
movie). Those of you with fast food experience will know what this is. The
players found it so creepy that they would not touch it. I even scolded
them that they would make bad Ghostbusters, but they would not touch it or
sample it. All they have to do is taste it or analyze it to find it's just
sugar, caffeine and carmel coloring.

Another funny thing (for me) was I was drinking a very dark beer, and I
selected a classic Coca Cola style glass to drink it in. I kept waving it
around during the game. When they saw the "dark liquid", I said it looks
black like this, and pointed right at my Coca Cola glass full of the dark
beer that basically looked like flat Coke. They will be angry at me when
they realize my little jokes.

They actually got within arms reach of the Green Glass Grail as someone
unknowingly carried it by them in a bin. They even asked what he was
carrying, and he said "recyclables", so they ignored it.
