Nope, John's best friend is dying of a heart condition and comes
to see him to have him read him. He bring's his siter, who has always
had a crush on John (Ally Sheedy, there is some fine Breakfast Club
in-joking going on). He discovers his friend will get a heart in time.
Much happiness. At the party he touches his other best friend, Kate, and
discovers she dies, and it's her heart that her brother gets.
I don't want to spoil the sequence of events, but it was a
winner.

As a friend of mine put it last night, "Oh my God... He has fivesight".
A tip of the hat to anyone that understands that.

Ah, I assume you mean the plot where John is "encouraged"
to do some reading for a mob boss? That is great stuff.

I can see that plot being in any UA story. It's perfect
for TNI. I'm sure TNI has a few psychics who were
unfortunate enough to have been discovered not to be
frauds.

And really, much of the Dead Zone is fit for UA. The
characters are usually quite solid. John is just one of
those fringe psychics...nothing as major as an actual
adept, but he's got something special in him.
