True, but the Mystic Hermaphrodite channel is dangerous; it's easy to get 
"stuck" in a bad position.  Someone who changes around as often as The 
Freak does would have to use a safer route.  The section on Epideromancy 
says that you could gain the ability to switch genders at will with a Major 
charge.  I figured that's how The Freak does it.  Plus, that's an 
explanation for its voice.
