Cool article, in my book.  Thank you.  Couple of comments:

The other option here, which is well-supported by existing material, is
to figure out how it's been transmuted by the postmodern age.  
Cryptomancy is a good example of this.  So is Pornomancy, because that's
what's happened to tantric magick, in a way.  Narcoalchemy.  Idolmancy
for voodoo.

/But/ a magick path need not.  Remember, this is personal stuff, and
does not require the cooperation of the universal subconscious.

What distinguishes a magick path from a magick school?  Just numbers.
People willing to buy into your warped vision.  That's why Bibliomancy
is a school and the guy who does hair-based magick is just one guy.
