Gökçe will probably pitch in, but having had a Turkish girlfriend for some seven years I think I can safely say I cannot imagine any contemporary Turk ever wearing a Fez. Not since, what, the 1920s?
It would be a major, and very unpopular, political statement to my understanding.
Gökçe?
Best,
Max

Dammit, Gökçe, until this moment, I'd been guiltlessly including an
amazingly shallow Turkish Avatar of the Fool in my UA campaign. You
know, one of those deals where I've got a sketch of depth (his grasp of
English is less than perfect, so he comes off as dim and agreeable,
thus his Avatarship, but he's actually decently intelligent) but which
the players will probably never see past the surface of.

Now I feel like I'm somehow betraying the international fraternity of
UA by not casting him in a more meaningful role. Any recommendations
about how a Turk would find himself in TNI? And is it amazingly
offensive if he wears a fez?
