Now now, little buddy. I think the president is doing a FINE job with
this war on I-raq. Best president ever! Also, did I mention what a great
job the FBI and NSA are doing stopping those terrorists? Those guys are
great! I think they're doing a wonderful job.

So, this ties in with UA in that I've been pulling little bits of
government agencies into the UA mix to give it a little bit more of a
Twin Peaks / X-Files / Grosse Point Blanc / Wag The Dog feel. You know,
quirky FBI agents who have their own personal grudges running up against
CIA guys running drugs, all of it being monitored by weird voyeuristic
NSA mathematicians. Put all this in the background of the usual TNI /
Sleepers / TOSG conflict and the clued-in/clueless discrepancies can
generate some great plotlines. One of the ideas I came up with was a
program whereby certain keywords spoken over a phone line anywhere in
the country could call down an airstrike or call in a SWAT team, as the
NSA monitors for them constantly: sort of a non-magical ritual for
super-high-level government operatives (or rogue agents).

Oh, by the way, I didn't mean to suggest that the CIA would ever have
anything to do with moving drugs into the country. Those guys are all
about _stopping_ the bad guys. And they're doing a great job! Okay guys!
I think you're all doing great! I'm your biggest fan!
