[UA] This sonuvabitch has really done it

It's not that hard. This is a mailing list for a roleplaying game, it has no relation to the war or indeed politics in general.
It makes no more sense to discuss the war here than it would if this were a mailing list devoted to swapping chile recipes.
However, there are tons of sites and lists devoted to politics, some doubtless very good.
What doesn't make sense is the idea that all other activity must be subsumed to discussion of the war. Whether we support, oppose or are indifferent to it, we have plentiful outlets for our views. We also have lives separate from the war though, and this list is for one hobby which is a part of that part of our lives which is separate.
Serious question time, what makes you think this is an appropriate or useful forum to discuss this in? What are you hoping to achieve by discussing it here that you couldn't achieve better by discussing it in a politics forum with people you know to be interested and actively following events?
Best,
Max
