Hullo. This would be my first post, so please, be gentle. And here we go…
A couple of Epideromancy questions:
1) Does this look like a viable Epideromancer formula spell? Good? Bad? Unbalanced? Outside the Fleshworkers’ portfolio? Other?: “Bitch in Heat” costs 1 Significant charge, and causes the subject’s sweat glands to release dense clouds of super-charged pheromones until the next time s/he sleeps. These pheromones affect any human with a sense of smell in close proximity to the subject – this includes anyone in the same room as the subject, or within a twenty foot radius out of doors (a stiff breeze reduces this to ten feet, strong winds to five feet, and rainfall disperses it altogether). Those affected will find the subject to be much more impressive, fascinating, charming, attractive, dynamic, dominating, and sexually desirable than normal – this amounts to a +30% shift for all the subject’s social skills, and a +50% shift solely for the purposes of seducing a potential sexual partner. Side effects include a much higher level of sexual arousal, aggress!
ion, general excitement, and emotional intensity in the subject’s vicinity (significantly increased chance of riots with large crowds, especially in enclosed spaces), unsolicited sexual advances from members of the wrong gender and confused animals, and unprovoked attacks by irrationally enraged heterosexuals of the same gender as the subject.
2) How would an Epideromancer go about turning himself (temporarily) into a hulking, simian combat-monster along the lines of Mr. Hyde from “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” (the superb Alan Moore comic book, not the putrescent movie)? Would it require a bunch of significant charges, or one major charge? If it took a major charge, would the transformation still only be temporary, or would it be possible to instill a chronic “Jekyll and Hyde” condition? In “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” Hyde seems to grow slightly larger and stronger each time he emerges, while Jekyll slowly wastes away, becoming more weak, frail, timid, and passive (“Without me, Jekyll has no drives, and without him, I have no constraints”). Would this translate well into UA game terms, as the price to be paid for invoking the power of the unfettered Id?
3) Also inspired somewhat by “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”; is it possible for an Epideromancer to become a post-modern Moreau? To what extent can the Epideromancer shape and mold nonhuman animals? If an Epideromancer were willing to expend a major charge, could he “uplift” an animal, giving it intelligence, sapience, and/or a humanoid body?
Thank-you-for-your-kind-attention. Comments, criticisms, suggestions, etc, all welcome.
