I rarely take one of the roads close to work home, preferring a shorter route, but with it being tourist season people don't like to pay attention to crosswalks so I took the longer route today, having been close to work. I likely passed this buulding before, but not in daylight, and saw the following:
One wooden door, old fashioned handle. Wood beside it (a covered window, either boarded up from the outside or it flips out). There was a window further down, but just mentioned a christmas dinner and itbeing closed sundays taped up on the inside. Blinds make it impossible to see in.
The building is named Come and "C".
And the following was taped up beside the door;
*OPEN* [Bolded, then though when I tried the door it wasn't :p]

"Serve all more excellent than we" .. *shudders* (Tho, according to the net it's one of the city's drop in shelters for the homeless, albeit one that Dumpster" Don Belanger (died at the dumpter behind it may 13th, 2001)
To quote from http://www.kelownacapnews.com/05401-2/top3.htm
"Nearly all the groups are lined up on Leon Avenue: the Kelowna Drop-In and Information Centre, the Come and C Society, Christian Life Fellowship and the Gospel Mission. That has created a somewhat competitive spirit, according to some of the people working there and users of the facilities.
But Penny Dennert, assistant pastor at the Christian Life Fellowship, which owns the building being rented by the Come and C Society, said that has to change.
Dennert said Belanger’s lonely death, beside a dumpster behind her building May 13, spurred her into action.
..
Belanger died behind their building. They accepted that he was there most of the time and decided that at least this way they could keep an eye on him.
"His death was really something that I have to admit shook us up. To see the whole downtown community of people and see the people sharing stories about him confirmed in us the tremendous need down there," he said.
"It is too bad that a man ended up dying."
While the groups and volunteers take the necessary steps, the need to do so appears to strengthen.
The dumpsters behind the Come and C, which Don had claimed as his own home and the spot where he died, have already been assumed by another squatter.
A picture of a rose is taped to the building which provides shelter from the north-east wind.
*plays eerie music*

It is so stupid of modern civilization to have given up believing in the devil when he is the only explanation of it.
