Very, very good movie -- I've got both versions on DVD. The American
remake is very good for American horror, but the Japanese is more visually
spectacular and more UAishly weird. The only reason that I don't place the
American version so far behind is that Naomi Watts is so damn cute. #%o)
Speaking of wussy friends, I have one ex-player who refused to play CoC
ever again after I hammed up a session just enough to send him fleeing from
my flat. I wish that I could put my finger on exactly what it was that set
him off, so I could do it again to my other players.

I've always had a soft spot for "Let Love In", especially the track
"Loverman". "Red Right Hand" is also a good track, but it's been overdone
since the X-Files crowd picked up on it.

Goddamn, I knew there were a few Aussies on the list, but I didn't realise
how many. I guess that we just live in a pretty bizarre and surreal
country. Speaking of which, James, a while ago, you mentioned some UAable
weirdness in an Adelaide train station, but I can't seem to track the
reference down. I get down to Adelaide (I'm in Sydney) every so often, and
I wouldn't mind checking it out for myself sometime.
Actually, come to think of it, Adelaide is a pretty weird place. Seems
fairly sedate on the surface, but with the Adelaide Effect and the Family
and Snowtown and what not... Not quite on the same level as Canberra and
its geomantically inspired design, but it's up there.

Last night, I dreamt that I'd pinned Bruce Willis beneath an unpainted
section of picket fence in his front yard, and that I beat him to death
with a copy of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. I awoke with blood on my
face. Note to self: never eat penne before bedtime again.
