That's knowing what you're experiencing is a dream?
If so, in the 10th grade, I actively worked at this skill until I was able
to do it in pretty much every dream. It required a trigger, though. I'd
be going through the dream clueless that it wasn't real until dream logic
manifested itself, or a situation occurred that Just Doesn't Happen. Then
I'd realize, "Hey, this is a dream." Once I had made this realization I
had total control of what happened in the dream. The first several times
were fun because I was exercising a new ability, but it quickly became
boring. My dreams are pretty surreal and contain lots of dream logic,
which I find very entertaining when I wake up and remember them. Once I
had assumed control of the dream, the surreality and surprise was lost,
and dreams ceased to be enjoyable. I ended up losing the ability to
realize I was in a dream after about six months, and although I've tried
on occasion to regain it, I haven't been able to do it since.
Do any of you not remember dreams for a while? I often go through my day,
and some random scene or action will remind me of a dream from weeks or
months ago that I hadn't remembered until then. Usually the memory
trigger is a nearly exact match for a scene or act in the dream, although
the rest of the dream bears no relation to the context of the trigger that
caused me to remember it.
Very minor precog abilities? I dunno...
