I almost died of liver failure as a child. I'm still trying to kill the
thing <reaches for another beer>.
Ahem... How -- if I'm not intruding -- did you get to be on your fourth
liver? Those things regenerate pretty quickly from what I've heard.

Every so often, I get drwning dreams, where I'm underwater and sucking
fluid into my lungs, yet I'm curiously unworried about this. Then again, I
also dream of snowdrifts, with Einsturzende Neubauten's "Wuste" playing in
the background. I've never had a claustrophobic dream AFAIK, and I only
had a "no-trousers" dream once when I was 7.

I had a similar dream, only I was watching the "Boring" episode of the
Young Ones. When I woke up, I was sure that there was a fairy kingdom
buried somewhere outside my bedroom window. I wanted to climb out my
window and dig it up. Then I remembered that I lived three floors up...

"'Kevin,' David interrupted, 'what the Germans should have done
was show the Russians a dead cat and ask them to explain it.'
"'That would have stopped the Soviet offensive right there,' I said.
"Zhukov would still be trying to account for the cat's death.'"
