[UA] archetype rarity?

This is why the archetypes I design all have low-level channels that don't
look obvious and which can be passed off as luck or coincidence.  Besides,
most small-m-mothers are likely to blow the taboo of the capital-M-Mother.
They're not going to stand aside and do nothing while THEIR kid suffers,
but are they going to butt in because someone else's child is crying at the
supermarket 'cause they ain't getting the candy bar?  Of course not.  But a
Mother would butt in, because she cannot see ANY child suffer.

I'm still inclined to think it breaks down thus:

Out of every X people who enact an ascended role, a small percentage do it
well enough to get attuned.

Out of the attuned, a small percentage become aware of their attunement.

Out of the aware, some -- probably a larger percentage, maybe 50%, maybe
more -- pursue the meaning of that attunement and become Avatars worth the
name.

Now, in common archetypes, the X in step one is vast.  Even if only 1% of
the mothers in the world become Mothers, that's still a gigantic pool
compared to the number of transvestites, transsexuals or seekers of paradox
who live according to the Mystic Hermaphrodite.

In the next two stages, the conversion percentages for Herms is probably
much higher, because you are unlikely to start on that path unless you have
some idea where it leads.  But still -- even if the Mother is converting 1%
at each step, what sort of numbers does that give?  Eight billion people
worldwide, right?  Half are women, about?  Say half of those become
mothers?  So 2,000,000,000 small-m-mothers globally.  If 1% are dedicated
enough to channel, that's still 20,000,000 accidental Mothers.

My guess is that there aren't twenty million people on Earth trying to
become the living embodiment of paradox and the unity of contradiction at
any particular time.  So the MH pool at stage ONE - unwinnowed and
unreduced - is still smaller than the Mother pool at stage two after it's
shrunk considerably.

YMMV, of course, but it seems reasonable to me that the more relevant
archetypes are also the most common.
