There's no 'canonical' answer -- it's never been addressed. However, I'd
always imagined that there are hundreds of low-level Mother avatars for
every Mystic Hermaphrodite. It is all about behavior and not belief, after
all -- and mommying is much more prevalent than 'embodying paradoxical
contradiction.
This is a double edged sword. In some ways, being an archetype of
something easy and common (like the Necessary Servant) is a big
disadvantage. You're going to have to be the best of the best to reach
Godwalker in THAT one. On the other hand, obscure or anachronistic
archetypes (like the old version of the Hunter) are much more likely to be
supplanted with a new edition. You really don't want to be following the
old path when a new one takes over. That's not likely to happen for the
Mother or the Warrior. Those concepts are big enough that, rather than be
replaced, they'll just get a variation that ascends as well (so you get the
Mother AND the Single Mother, the Warrior AND the Unknown Soldier).

So, when Christopher Lee was getting direction from George Lucas, do you
suppose he just closed his eyes and pretended it was Peter Jackson?
