Getting 99% in ANYTHING is really, really hard. It doesn't seem reasonable
that going from 40% to 70% in a skill should be as easy as going form 10%
to 40%. It's much easier to achieve a low level of ability at something
than it is to get a high level; That's why so many more people can do
geometrey than linear algebra. I think having the costs go up when you've
reached the limits of your inborn predisposition are justified.
That's for NORMAL skills. Godwalker is even harder because, hey, raising
your "Make Awesome Slamdunk" skill to 99% earns you millions of dollars and
firehoses of respect from sports fans, but you don't get to pick a unique
power like "Never get older" or "make people bregnant with my sweat" the
way Godwalkers do.
Avatar skills are harder because they do more. Adept skill is a lot harder
because it does a lot more.
