The core group of gamers that I have are strongly high-fantasy, but they are
willing to dabble in other genre for a one shot. They do not want to go
further, I guess it's for fear that they might enjoy it too much and feel
like they are cheating on a spouse?

You know this gives me an IDEA!Here it was all the time the answer staring
right at me in the face. Instead of playing UA as a gritty reality concept,
start them off in a urban fantasy setting. Something akin to Charles de
Lint. It's worth a shot.
