Hmmm... Interesting point. I don't consider myself
all that high-fantasy oriented (although I certainly
enjoy a game with elves and dragons in it every now
and then) and I'm strongly attracted to UA.
A friend of mine got his D&D3e group going on it just
recently because they were tired of sword and sorcery.
But UA, itself, is fantasy. It's about magic and
golems and scrunchy reality. It may be closer to
horror fantasy than heroic fantasy, but it's still a
lot more fantastic than, say, space opera or even
superheroes.
