Well, we've seen the haunted painting and the haunted paintbrush on eBay...
I'm waiting for the haunted retarder medium, myself:
"My paint takes a supernaturally long time to dry, and even when it does,
all the colours run together if you apply more paint! I swear, it's trying
to tell me something! Take it off my hands now! SOLD: highest bidder
GullibleWanker $289,572.45."
But still, I have some ideas for the paintbrush itself. Perhaps the
paintbrush isn't haunted, but merely intelligent and psychokinetic. It's
going on holiday, you see, getting around by the paintbrush equivalent of
hitchhiking: getting people to buy it, scaring the crap out of them and
being sold across the country.
Perhaps it's on the run. The question is, though, who would want a
psychokinetic paintbrush dead? Or maybe it _is_ really haunted, possessed
by the soul of PT Barnum, posthumously trying to channel the Merchant
through a paintbrush? Who knows?
It's times like this that I realise just how much I need a coffee. Pity
that my sugarpot's trying to kill me, though. #%o)

"'Kevin,' David interrupted, 'what the Germans should have done
was show the Russians a dead cat and ask them to explain it.'
"'That would have stopped the Soviet offensive right there,' I said.
"Zhukov would still be trying to account for the cat's death.'"
