Problem is, there are no NJ football teams who are nationally ranked.
So not much motivation for corruption.  I mean... Rutgers?  Sure, they
had the /first/ intercollegiate football game, but after that things
kind of went downhill.  (Rutgers won, beating Princeton 6-4.)

You might have more luck if you could make the sport basketball, with
a kidnapped point guard.  Rutgers has been OK but not great over the
last couple of decades in basketball; it's not outside the realm of 
possibility that a /really/ good PG (or center) could push Rutgers into
the Final Four.
