[UA] Notes from a parallel universe

The Discover magazine issue for April contains an article about crank
theories sent to reputable scientists, and the scientists reaction to
them. Parts of the article seem to have UA potential, for the low-life,
clueless NPC types.

For example:

"A few years before, at Dartmouth, a dishwasher swamped the Internet
newsgroups with his descriptions of the universe as a giant plutonium
atom. the man, who identified himself as Archimedes Plutonium, wrote
songs praising this atom universe and also provided stock tips. When
he appeared on campus, it was in a parka covered with equation like a
necromancer's robe."

Which is oh-so-tempting to make an adept or an avatar or something, in
my mind.

Their website still lists March as their current issue, or I'd link to
it there.

Mr. Teapot
"I contend the holes on the right side of these pants are not explainable
by contemporary science."
