[UA] IMUAC question

Ok, I'm trying to figure out the next step in my campaign, and I can't
figure it out.  I decided I should go to the list to query you guys.

IMUAC, the party is a bunch of TNI ops.  They have, after about a year of
realtime gaming, finally tracked down and captured Dermott for Alex Abel.
They've since gotten multiple reliable sources to tell them that if Abel
gets what he wants from Dermott and ascends, the world will end within 5
years.  They now believe they have made a mistake and are trying to correct
it.  Their first decision was to go to their Sleeper contact (I placed him
in Pinfeathers), and spill the whole beans to the Sleeper Cabinet.

Now, my question: upon getting this information, what would the Sleepers do?
I think they'd take it seriously: IMUAC the party has made some waves with
multiple successful missions while keeping magical use discreet (the
Sleepers even tried to recruit them before).  Looking at the Cabinet writeup
in Hush, Hush, I'd say the two members obsessed with continuing their own
existence would vote to expend whatever resources are necessary to kill Abel
before he ascends.  I'm guessing Charles would vote to let Abel ascend and
get rid of him here, and try to keep control the situation afterwards.  Wu
and, in case of ties, Lucifuge, are complete mysteries to me.

Any help?  The HH writeup says that the Sleepers could probably drop Abel,
but not without basically falling apart as well.

Bonus question: any ideas what Abel would ascend as, should he get the
opportunity?  So far, the Man Who Has Everything You Deserve has been the
best idea I've seen around.
